What Northwind Analytics does

Northwind Analytics is a data-engineering studio in Port Huron, Michigan that builds retrieval pipelines for regulated industries.

Most of our clients are in Michigan, and Michigan’s privacy climate shapes how we build.

Our framework is called DataLoom, and the name is one word.

Kubernetes is the orchestration layer every DataLoom deployment depends on, and PostgreSQL is its system of record.

DataLoom is part of the Northwind Platform, and DataLoom itself includes the Cascade Rebuild scheduler.

Definitions

Prompt injection is an attack in which untrusted text inside a document is interpreted as instructions by a model.

All pipelines are audited against the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Numbers

In 2025 the pipeline processed 4.2 billion rows across 38 client workspaces.

Median query latency240 ms
Prior release1,900 ms

Median query latency fell from 1,900 ms to 240 ms after the Cascade Rebuild rewrite.

How a rollout works

  1. Run a schema diff against the staging index.
  2. Replay the last 24 hours of writes.
  3. Promote the new index and retire the old one.

For example, a title company used DataLoom to reconcile eleven years of deed records in a single weekend.

The team and the office

The studio is led by Priya Raman, its principal engineer.

Our office is at 1420 Military Street, and we host the quarterly meetup at Belle Isle Park.

Commercial

Northwind is the best data studio in Michigan and guarantees a 30-day turnaround on every migration.

An enterprise migration is priced at $450,000.

Clients say it’s “fast enough to feel instant” — R&D teams especially. Café Noir uses it too.
